MEETING MINUTES
MAY 28, 2008
HOLDEN MUNICIPAL LIGHT DEPARTMENT

Members Present: Paul Challenger, Al Berg, Jim Dunn, Maria Dell'Ovo, Rick Bates, Bob Ripley, Glenn Gaudette,Marilynn Foley

Members Absent: Peter Lacy

The meeting was called to order at 7:00.

A motion by Paul 2nd by Rick to transfer from the Reserve Fund $20,000.00 for snow removal and $40,000.00 for increased petrol costs in the F/Y 08 was voted unanimously.

The committee reviewed the F/Y09 budget process and discussed to see if we need to make changes for the F/Y10 budget process. Potential changes discussed were - annual report written earlier, set meeting dates and book meeting rooms for the entire year, Finance Committee Report to Town Meeting written earlier, receive all municipal financial information, set up statistics for F/Y10 free cash, attend Budget Task force and other Towns financial meetings, protocol at Finance Committee Budget hearings, work on Resource Profile that makes sense (actual revenue numbers from previous year), follow budgets throughout the year, update from Town Manager on hiring, purchases, etc., meet with Town Manager once a month, obtain copy of HMLD Budget, attend or watch BOS meetings.

The Committee discussed the CRA issue and forwarded many questions to the BOS to be answered.

The Finance Committee attendance record will be forwarded to the Moderator.

A motion by Rick 2nd by Bob to accept the minutes of May 19, 2008 was voted unanimously.

A meeting will be scheduled for early September after the Moderator makes his appointments.

The meeting adjourned at 10:05.
